Obituary of Earl Schruder

SCHRUDER - Earl Gustave passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Meadows Long-Term Care Facilities. Earl was born on February 15, 1932 in a long cabin in South Algona Township, Renfrew County, Ontario to parents Walter and Golda(nee: Resmer) Schruder. Earl met Irma Wessner in Oshawa, Ontario, while he was working for Robson Leather. They were married om July 4, 1958. Earl is survived by his son Darrell (Yvette Feil-Schruder); granddaughters Samantha Schruder and Taylor Schruder; his daughter Japhia Schruder; sister Helen McGuire, and brother Carl (Louis) Schruder; sisters-in-law Wilma Burant, Loretta Buhr, and Geneva Schruder. Earl was predecreased by his parents Walter and Golda Schruder, and his wife Irma (Jan. 8, 2020); sisters Alice Golda Schruder (died as infant), Florence Russell, Flora Kelford, Judy Gonu; brothers Murvin Schruder, Allen Schruder (died as infant), and Walter (Sonny) Schruder (died as a child); sister-in-law Edna Sauder, Rose Wessner; brother-in-laws Elmer Wessner, Lewis Burant, Clarence Buhr, Roland Vailliancourt, Charlie Kelford, and Giles McGuire. After leaving Oshawa in 1965, Dad and Mom moved to Calgary, where Dad worked for Consolidated-Bathurst Packaging Ltd. In 1973, Dad and Mom moved to Swift Current, where Dad found employment with the Swift Current School Board as a caretaker, first at the Old Oman School, then the New Oman School, and later Fairview School. Dads retired in 1994. What was most important to Dad—his faith, and his family. We miss you dearly and forever. That says it all. Special thanks to all the staff and residents of House 5 who cared for Mom and later Dad.  A family graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.  Donations in memory of Earl can be made to the Meadows Auxiliary - c/o Eleanore Forge 308 230 Lister Kaye Cres.
