January 10, 1921 – July 10, 2023
FEHR – Margaret left her earthly dwelling for her eternal home in the early hours of July 10, 2023, at the Meadows, in Swift Current. She departed peacefully in her sleep. Margaret was born at her family home to parents, Frank and Agatha (Goertzen) Banman on January 10, 1921, in the village of Hopefield, Saskatchewan. During her years as a student she was greatly influenced for her Lord by her teacher, Jacob Neufeld. She passed on her strong faith to her family.
She was baptized upon the confession of her faith in Jesus Christ on May 13, 1940. On November 2, 1941 She married Peter Fehr, a young man from the neighbourhood. During their married years they were involved with many different ventures, raising a family, farming, operating a country store, and owning revenue houses. Together they experienced the joys and sorrows of life for 48 years and 27 days. Their relationship ended when Peter lost his battle with ALS on November 29, 1989, resulting in Margaret living as a widow for 33 years, 8 months and 11 days.
During these years she bought and operated the “FEHRVILLE” Restaurant in Swift Current for a couple of years, then sold all her property and moved into the Heritage Towers for a time. Margaret also developed an interest in black-and-white photography, she took many pictures for herself and for others. Then she decided to move to British Columbia to be closer with her daughter Katherina and her family. After 11 years, in 2011, she returned to Swift Current where she lived in retirement for the remainder of her years. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children; Katherina Adrian, Jake (Sara) Fehr, Henry (Tina) Fehr, and David (Sara) Fehr, her 16 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Peter, her parents and Peter’s parents, all of their siblings on both sides of the family, and her son-in-law Wilmer Adrian on December 10, 2006. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
