Obituary of Reynold Unger

UNGER – Reynold it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Reynold Unger on November 26, 2022 at Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and neighbor.  He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sylvia and their children, Keith & Craig (Jackie). He will be forever cherished by his two grandchildren Randi (Ryan) Falk, Colton (Vanessa) and his 3 great grandchildren, Silas, Oliver and Zoe Falk, and his nephew Blair Watson.  He was predeceased by his parents Henry & Sarah Unger; sister Verna & brother-in-law John Watson; mother & father-in-law Bill (Lydia) Bender and niece Barbara Watson. Reynold was born in Herbert, SK on October 28, 1932. He completed his education to grade 12 at the Herbert School.  In his youth he worked at the local grocery store.  In 1950 he met the love of his life, Sylvia Bender and they were married on September 4, 1955. Later in his life he had the opportunity to purchase his own grocery store, which he did.  Rennie’s Grocery became very popular and supported the town in many ways.  Dad loved curling and had his own Rennie’s Grocery Team. He was a member of the Lions Club until he moved to Swift Current.  Mom and Dad moved to Swift Current in 1982 and lived a very happy life together.  A family memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home.  Donations can be made to the organization of your choice in memory of Reynold.  Arrangements are in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle & Hayden Cappelle.
