BROWN – Ray Andrew

The family of Ray Andrew Brown of Abbey, SK are saddened to announce his passing on January 7, 2022, at the age of 64.  Ray was born December 12, 1957, in Cabri, SK.  He attended Roe School and Abbey School.  At a young age Ray started working on various farms and ranches. Ray enjoyed being around cattle and loved going to brandings to lend a helping hand. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing hockey with the Abbey Old Timers, playing ball with the Roe Ruffies, hunting, fishing, butchering, and making sausage.  When Ray’s health deteriorated, he moved home with his mom on the farm near Abbey. On his good days he enjoyed short drives and playing cards with the neighbors.  Ray was always willing to help his brothers-in-law at harvest and seeding time by moving equipment, driving big trucks, or making pickles when asked to.  Ray is survived by his mother, Margaret Brown, siblings; Harvey (Sandra), Darla (Lyle), Larry (Crystal), Sherry (Tom), Jodie (James) and numerous nieces and nephews.  Ray is predeceased by his dad, Cecil; brother Duane and nephew Corey.  Ray will be missed but his memory will be carried on forever.  A celebration of life will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Ray can be made to Roe Co-operative Community Hall Box 86 Abbey, SK.
