OLSON – OLAF “Ole”, age 88 passed away on Thursday, August 6 in the Cypress Regional Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on the family farm in the Leinan district on January 31, 1932. He went to Kilton Hill School. On February 9, 1957 he married Inez Hagman. They had 2 children. Ole was a lifelong farmer but also enjoyed other jobs at Soo Security Motorways, United Taxi and SK Liquor Store to name a few. He loved the Olde Tyme Fiddlers, dancing, playing cribbage, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and curling on TV. Due to health reasons, he moved into the Meadows in July 2016. Ole is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Harvey) & their children, Elizabeth (Bruce) and Jeff and his one son, Ken Olson. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Shirley Hagman and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Inez, his parents Ben & Hulda Olson, his brother Sig (Elsie) Olson, sister Helen (Ivan) Hovdestad, Mrs. Amanda Hagman, Mary (Harvey) Staple, Edna (Willard) Meyer, Virginia (Nick) Friesen, Elwood (Grace) Hagman, Victoria (Pat) Sather, Kermit Hagman, Clayton Hagman, Quinton (Anne) Hagman and nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Burial Park with Rev. Dr. Greg Kiel officiating. The family wishes to extend their appreciation for the care he received from nurses and care aids in House #11 as well as all the nurses in the Dialysis Unit. In his memory donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
