Obituary of Robert "BUD" Martinson

MARTINSON – ROBERT ‘BUD’ it is with great sadness that we announce his passing on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at the Cypress Regional Hospital with his daughter by his side. Bud was born March 9, 1934 in Leinan, SK. In his early twenties he became a dedicated employee for 42 years as a mechanic at the Pioneer Co-op 4th Ave. NW location, finally retiring in 1999. On May 9, 1956 he married Georgina “Bubs” Goldbeck in Swift Current and celebrated 53 years of marriage before her passing on October 21, 2009. On August 7, 1956 they welcomed their only daughter Deborah Yvonne to the family. His retirement was filled with grandkids and golf. Dad loved golf and coffee row. Bud is survived by his daughter Deb (Kelvin) Waker and his two grandsons Marshall (Erin Christopher) Waker and Keegan (Angela Smith) Waker and his three great-grandchildren Aiden Kilshaw, Madden Guppy and Camryn Waker. He is also survived by his brother’s Lloyd (Pat) Martinson, Marvin (Carol) Martinson and his sister Shirley Johnson. Bud was predeceased by his wife Bubs, his parents Annar Martinson & Elsie (VanWormer) Martinson; his brothers Harold (Anne) Martinson, Russel (Maxine) Martinson and his sisters Ann (Albert) Wotypka and Elinor (Ed) Calon. The private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, followed by a lunch at Elmwood Golf Club (Dad’s second Home). Rest in peace Dad, we love you.
