Obituary of Helen Hunt
Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
HUNT - Helen K went to be with her Lord and Saviour and her beloved husband, Joseph on February 9, 2020 at Cypress House in Swift Current, SK. Helen is survived by her sons: Terry (Shirley) and their children, Joey (Crystal), Scott, Jayson (Cassidy); great grandchildren Adysen, Jayden, Max, and Ava; Randy (Melissa) and their children, Tamara (Richard) and BJ. And Tamara and BJ’s mother, Roxy. Sisters, Fran Nicklom, Vi Kenway; and sister in law, Lynda Spagrud. Helen was predeceased by her: infant daughter, Kathleen; parents, Leonard and Florence; sister, Joyce (Ralph) Grant; brothers, Fred and Lloyd; brothers in law, Willard Nicklom and Ken Kenway. Born in Gull Lake, Helen was a proud Gull Laker living there her whole life. She was a hairdresser before marrying Joseph in 1958 and continued to trim/cut hair for family and friends for many years. Along with being a busy farm wife and mother, she started working at the Chinook Regional Library and then later at the Gull Lake Special Care Home as a nurse’s aide. She greatly enjoyed her time at both facilities. After raising her sons, helping raise her grandchildren, she still had time for the things she loved - like travelling with granddaughter Tamara, babysitting great granddaughter Ava, bingo-ing, casino-ing and quilting. Helen is going to be deeply missed by her family and friends, but we are comforted in knowing when we could not be around, she had wonderful staff at the Cypress House to look after her. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice, or volunteer your time in your community like she did. At Helen’s request no formal service will be held.
