Obituary of Ann Hart

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Hart, Ann It is with great sadness that the family of Ann Hart announces her passing, Sept 28th at almost 99 years of age. Ann will be lovingly remembered by her sons Barry and Frank, her daughter-in-law Diana Milenkovic, her grandson Luc Hart, her nieces and nephews as well as her many friends and her care givers. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Hart in 1959 and also predeceased by her 11 brothers and sisters as well as several nieces and nephews.  Born a twin, Dec 25th in 1920 in McMahon Saskatchewan to Ernst and Edith Bauman, and one of twelve children in the family, Ann grew up in South West Saskatchewan, living in both the Cypress Hills and Swift Current most of her long and fulfilling life. A woman of boundless energy and independence, she very much enjoyed being with her many friends and relatives, including visiting with her extended family in California in the winter. She also loved to shop and dress well, enjoying her wide array of clothes, jewellery and shoes—and yes her high heels which she continued to wear well into her elder years. She worked for many years at the Pioneer Coop in Swift Current. After retiring she took up crafts, raising toy poodles and engaging in a host of activities, including one of her favorite things, spending time with her grandson, Luc. She loved animals and even managed to tame a squirrel in her back yard. Her time was often filled with visiting her extended family and many friends.  She loved to garden and cook and was most famous for her tasty dinner buns which were always a favorite at any meal. She was vibrant and active throughout her entire life, living independently to the age of 95. A fall a few years ago left her with a broken hip from she never fully recovered. She eventually moved to The Meadows Care Home in Swift Current in 2016 where she enjoyed tremendous affection and care from The Meadows staff. Even in her final years, her many friendships kept her active and engaged and she retained her sharp mind and strong memory until her final days. While living at The Meadows, she continued to enjoy the frequent visits of her immediate family, her many nieces and nephews including Faye, Trudy, Robbie and others as well as her many friends and her special friends, Heidi, Erica and Maggie the dog.  Ann’s wish was that no Funeral Service be held for her and that she be cremated and interred with her husband, Lloyd.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Meadows Auxiliary, in memory of Ann Hart. Cheques should be addressed to the registered charity: The Meadows Auxiliary Att: Eleanore Forge 308 230 Lister-Kaye Cres. Swift Current, Saskatchewan S9H 0A2.  At Ann’s request there will not be a formal service.  For further information or to sign the family book of condolence, visit www.parksidefuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are in care of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home – Ryan Cappelle.
