Obituary of Bevan Tyson Omland

OMLAND – Bevan Tyson passed away on September 12, 2019 in Swift Current, SK.  He was born June 22, 1977 in Swift Current, SK to Garth and Sandra Omland.  Bevan was much loved and will be greatly missed by his family:  son Landon Boutin, daughter Kada Omland, mother Sandra Omland, brothers Dana (Barb) Omland and Danny (Nui) Omland, niece Kyra, and nephews Kelsy, Justin, and Jayson. Bevan was predeceased by his father Garth Omland and uncle Ron Gray.  Bevan completed high school at the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, and then received his Journeyman Powerline certificate from NAIT in 2011.  Bevan was an enormous sports fan, including hockey, baseball, football, and golf, which got him involved with coaching and later scouting at the Junior A level.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kyle & Community Sports Centre. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kyle Elks Community Hall.  The interment will take place at Horse Butte Cemetery.

Don’t think of him as gone away

His journey’s just begun,

Life holds so many facets

This earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting

From the sorrows and the tears

In a place of warmth and comfort

Where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing

That we could know today

How nothing but our sadness

Can really pass away.

And think of him as living

In the hearts of those he touched…

For nothing loved is ever lost

And he was loved so much.
