Please share a memory of Kenneth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
STRAUCH – KEN It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ken Strauch of Swift Current and longtime farmer of Shamrock. Kenneth William Strauch was born on May 16, 1943 on the family homestead NE 13-14-6 W3 in the Shamrock District. He was born to Gustav and Gertrude (Bechthold) Strauch. Ken passed away on December 23, 2016 at Swift Current, Sk. As a child Ken attended school at Bolingbroke and later at Shamrock. His passion in life was farming. He continued to have an active role in farming his whole life. He had a very strong faith and was a devoted Christian. Ken had many hobbies; he enjoyed fishing and in his younger years was a taxidermist. He was a keen gardener and shared his bounty with others. He also was an avid garage sale and auction sale enthusiast. He loved a good joke and had a wonderful sense of humour. Ken had a huge heart and a kind soul and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He has been greeted in heaven by both of his parents and two older brothers who passed away in infancy. He leaves to mourn: brothers, Harold (Margaret) Strauch, Lorenz (Audrey) Strauch and his sister, Eileen (Terry) Cashin, his nephews and nieces, Tim Strauch, Amber Strauch (Martin Fjaagesund), Nolan Strauch, Arlen (Lisa) Strauch, Cindy (Darwin) Daae as well as great nephews and nieces Nick, Marcy and Jason Strauch, as well as Keith and Andrew Daae. Internment to take place Wednesday December 28th, 2016 at 11am at the Kelstern MB Cemetery near Kelstern, Sk. Funeral to follow at 2:30pm at the Church of the Open Bible, Swift Current, Sk. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Church of the Open Bible or a charity of choice.
