Obituary of Levern Horvey

Please share a memory of Levern to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
HORVEY – Levern, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, surrounded by his family. He was born January 8, 1951 in Cabri, SK to Lloyd and Mabel (Marken) Horvey. Raised on the family farm with his sister Judy (Purdy), he went on to achieve his Bachelors Degree in Agriculture in Crop Science from the University of Saskatchewan in 1973, and proceeded to work for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. He married the love of his life, Norma Webb, on May 4, 1974. He took over the family farming operation in 1978 and succeeded as a passionate farmer. Together with Norma, he lovingly raised 4 children: Jennifer (Switzer), Erin, Amy, and Loel. Throughout his amazing life, Levern had many passions. He was an active member of the community through his involvement with the Pioneer Co-op, the Cabri Brass band, and the Scandia Lutheran Church. He was an accomplished musician, playing multiple instruments, a passion he passed on to his children. Along with Norma, Levern took to traveling the world, from the Florida area for baseball spring training, to the beaches of Maui, from Europe to the small island of New Zealand. Most recently, Levern became an accomplished potter and worked alongside Norma when he wasn’t busy running the farm business, or actively caring for his 5 grandchildren (and grand-dogs). Please join us in celebrating the life of this wonderful, caring husband, father, brother, friend, and member of the community. A gathering will be held at the Cabri Legion Hall on Saturday, May 5 at 3:30pm and all are welcome to come to share in the celebration.
