Please share a memory of Gladys to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
STOLZ – Gladys Clara (nee Anderson) passed away on May 8, 2018 at the Meadows in Swift Current just shy of her 81st birthday. Gladys was the first child born to Melvin & Elsie Anderson on June 22, 1937 at Vanguard, Sask. Gladys started school in 1943 at Ettrick Bank School. In 1946 the school was moved to Braddock where she completed her elementary education. Gladys finished her education in Swift Current. She started her first job in 1955 at the Co-op Creamery. On Aug 6, 1965 she was delighted to welcome her daughter Darla Mae, from a previous marriage. Following this she was employed at Palliser Regional Care Centre as an Activities Coordinator. In the summer of ’69 she met her true love, Dennis Stolz. They were married Feb 20, 1970. On Dec 9, 1970 they welcomed Robert Wade. It wasn’t long after this that Gladys rejoined the work force at SGI in the motor license division. Gladys with her family enjoyed a lot of camping with family and friends through the years. Gladys loved going to Norfest in Minot, North Dakota. Going to visit her children and their families was also a highlight for her. Family and friends were a very important part of her life. She enjoyed being around people ever since she was young which continued up until the end. Gladys made sure there was always a family gathering every holiday with Christmas being her favourite. |This past Easter she was the instigator for a family dinner at the Meadows attended by 40 family members. Gladys loved music, especially the old time music, hymns, and enjoyed dancing as long as she could. Her favourite season was spring, as it brings the birth of new calves, which she enjoyed watching them play as well as the Meadow Larks returning. She would say that the Meadow Lark’s song was a God given song. Her love of God and how important he was in her life was easy to see through how she lived each day. Gladys is survived by her husband Dennis, who has been a true testimony of a loving husband. Her children Darla (Terry) Sinclair, Rob (Celine) Stolz and stepson Robert Laing. Grandchildren Scott, Trista, Amanda and Maddison Sinclair, Johnathon and Amy Stolz. Sisters Norma (Marvin) Busse and Julie (Robert) Jorgensen. Brother-in-law Ken Stolz, Sister-in-law Dianne Duek, Aunts Evelyne Schwartz and Iris Lewichew, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by parents Melvin and Elsie Anderson, brother Stanley Anderson, nephew Chad Anderson, brother-in-law Brian Stolz and in-laws Emil and Erma Stolz. The funeral service held Thursday May 17, 2018 at the Eastside Church of God with Pastor Joell Haugan officiating. Pallbearers were Scott Sinclair, Trista Sinclair, Amanda Sinclair, Maddison Sinclair, John Stolz, Amy Stolz and Evan Anderson. The internment was held at Memory Gardens. In Gladys’s memory donations may be made to Salvation Army or Community Baptist Church.
