ANDRES – Sarah (nee Letkeman) of Swift Current and formerly of Herbert, SK passed away on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the age of 91 at the Prairie Pioneer Lodge, Swift Current, SK. Sarah was born on September 27, 1916 to Heinrich and Helena Letkeman in Rosenfeld, MB. Sarah was predeceased by her husband Henry after 54 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents; 6 brothers, 5 sisters, one son-in-law and one granddaughter. She leaves to mourn; one brother, Gary (Mauvren) Letkeman, one sister Margaret Derksen; son Robert (Marion) Andres of Sparwood, B.C.; three daughters, Shirley Gering of Swift Current, Norma (David) Cannon of Calgary, AB, Donna (Howard) Biech of Olds, AB; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Helen Letkeman and many nieces and nephews. When Sarah was in her own home, her flower garden was her greatest joy. She was always busy, and loved to quilt, sew, bake, crochet, and knit along with many other crafts. Her hands were often busy making things for her family, which included hand decorated cakes for family birthdays. Family was most important to her and she was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. from the Living Faith Fellowship Church, Herbert, SK with Reverend Corny Braun and Pastor Ken Epp officiating. The organist was Mary Ann Voth and the pianist was Elsie Peterson. The ushers were Paul Letkeman and Bill Voth. A duet was preformed by Brenda Schulz and Florence Welk. A eulogy was given by grand-daughters, Brenda Dunn and Theresa Crowther. The honorary pallbearers were: Brenda Dunn, Cammie Andres, Dwayne Andres, Theresa Crowther, Amber Cannon, Dwayne Biech and Jodi Biggart. The active pallbearers were: Robin Cannon, Michael Gering, Ronald Gering, Ken Crowther, Clarence Biggart and Wayne Gering. The interment took place at the Herbert Cemetery, Herbert, SK.
