KUSHNER – George passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Cypress Regional Hospital at the age of 75 years. He was predeceased by: his mother Luella, his father Samuel, his stepmother Leona, an infant son, and his sister Anne. George will be lovingly remembered by his wife Grace; his four children: Wayne (Joanne), Dennis (Lea), Barry (Tracy), and Shirley (Wylie); his brothers: William, Mike (Carolyn), and Gordon; his sister-in-law Pauline; brother-in-law Neil; his grandchildren: Diana (Jason), Jarrett, Sheri-Lynn (Kevin), Anita (Garrod), and Crystal; and by his many nieces and nephews. After graduating with honours from Biggar High School, George studied photography at The Art Center School in Los Angeles. Freelance photography work and 10 years at CJFB-TV was followed by his lengthy entrepreneurial career as the owner of Robinson Electronics. Devoted to community service, George participated in the Multi-Cultural Council, the Swift Current Allied Arts Council, and multi-levels of Government politics. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church with Christine Ciona officiating. The organist was Marilyn King. The honorary pallbearers were: Dave and Betty Halliday, Paul and Donna Rezansoff, Glen Wallace, Bob Dahl Sr., Don and Ila Robinson, Lavern and Sharon Lizee, and Jim Smart. The active pallbearers were: Darren Kushner, Dale Kushner, Jeff Kushner, Lorne Elias, Ron Spokowski, and George Carnrike. The interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Provincial Blood and Marrow Transplant Program Team, c/o Saskatoon Cancer Centre, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4.
