Obituary of Sarah Cooper

COOPER – Sarah Marjorie passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008. The funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 17, 2008 at St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Kiel officiating. The tribute was given by her granddaughter Ashley Cooper. Bible readings were read by daughter Carol Neville-Smith and granddaughter Terrie Dixon. Ushers were Jerry Scheller, Larry Richards and Harry Minifie. The pallbearers were her grandsons: Trevor Haubrich, Spencer Cooper, Stan Dash, Kent Cooper, Kurt Cooper and Trevor Dixon. The interment service took place at Vanguard Memorial Cemetery. Sarah is survived by her loving husband Ron Cooper; daughter Marjorie (Earl) Haubrich and their children Trevor and Allison; son Allan (Sheila) Cooper and their children Stacey, Kent and Kurt, daughter Carol (John) Neville Smith and their children Charlotte, Loretta, Terrie (Trevor), Teresa and Shantel, son Cliff and his children Ashley and Spencer, daughter Dianne and her children Stan, Chelsea and Brendon and six great grandchildren Dylan, Lilly, Daisy, Starr, Seleina and William. Sarah is also survived by her siblings Tina Krich, Chris Campbell and Pete Banman. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Justina Banman; sisters Laura, Mary, Anne and Irene. Sarah was born on January 30, 1933 on a farm near Braddock, SK. She attended her early schooling at McMahon. Her family later moved to Taber, AB and then to Grandview Bench, BC where she continued her schooling. She met Ron and they were married on March 12, 1952. They farmed all their life in the Vanguard district. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Women. She loved the farm life, visiting friends and family, playing games with her grandchildren. Her greenhouse, flowers and gardening were also a love of hers. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all who knew her.
