Obituary of William Schultz

William (Bill) J. Schultz – January 21, 1918 – May 18, 2008 Bill was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan to Agnes and Jacob W. Schultz, one of eight children. Bill was raised and went to school in the Meadow Prairie district. In 1946 he married Mona Dupont and they shared 61 years together. Together they farmed the Dupont Homestead from 1951 until moving into the town of Herbert in the fall of 2007. Bill is survived by his wife Mona and their 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Raymond (Janice) their children Ryan (Jordan), Corey and daughter Kerri. Judy (Glenn Harder) their daughters Marcy (Mike Melynyk and Emma), Karin (Jason Proctor, Keegan and Damon). Dorothy (Murray Ward), children, Emily, Adam, Amanda and Brett. Roy (Valerie), children Nicole (Regan Darby and Hudson), Matthew, Renee. Florence (Steve Trautman, Shelby). Laurie (Dana Johnson) Kate, Megan. He is also survived by his two sisters Helen Lyding from Salmon Arm and Ruth (Herb Ring) from Moose Jaw, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was a hard working farmer who enjoyed spending his time out doors and gardening. He also enjoyed watching baseball and hockey on TV, which was always a part of enthusiastic discussion. Also, relaxing in his chair, listening to radio programs. Bill had a strong work ethic as well as a keen sense of humor, which remained sharp until the end. Family was very important to him and was always concerned about his children and grandchildren. He will be very dearly missed. Memorial services will be held in Herbert at the Evangelical Free Church at 2:00 pm on Thursday May 22, 2008.
