HARDER, Benjamin (Ben), age 58 of Herbert, SK passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2008. The funeral service was held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Living Faith Fellowship Church with Pastor Donovan Epp officiating. The interment was held at Gouldtown Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Trevor Harder, Dwayne Harder, Lyle Zacharias, Terry Funk, David Funk, Ron Schultz, Gary Harder, and Isaac Harder. The pianist was Diane Peters. Special music was provided by Brenda Schultz and Florence Woelk. The ushers were Harry Friesen, Dan Schapansky, and Elmer Wiebe. Ben is survived by: Martha Zacharias of Herbert, SK; Mary Funk of Gouldtown, SK; Tina (Bob) Friesen of Waldeck, SK; Pete (Sarah) Harder of Allen, SK; Dick (Fay) Harder of Dawson Creek, BC; and Elma Harder of Herbert, SK. Ben was predeceased by his parents Peter and Maria Harder, Henry Harder, Abe Harder, and Laura Harder. Ben was well known in the community. He enjoyed going to the rink and watching hockey, and volunteering at the rink. He worked at various places: the R.M. of Rush Lake, Herbert Esso, and the Town of Herbert. He like going to the coffee shop and visiting with friends. He was a member of the Living Faith Fellowship Church and was an usher at the church for many years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In memory of Ben, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
