Obituary of Helen Rogerson
Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Helen went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 3rd, 2008. She was born in Rush Lake, Saskatchewan on January 24th, 1915 to parents Johann and Helena Wall. Helen spent her early years on the farm and in Rush Lake with her 4 brothers and 1 sister.
She was educated at Highfield School and from there furthered her education at the International Bible College for 3 years. After finishing her education she went into the Ministry, serving in various locations throughout Saskatchewan. In January 1953 Helen married P.F. Harder and after his passing in November 1972 she moved to Calgary. There she taught in a Bible School as well as worked in various other occupations. Eventually she returned to Herbert where on January 2nd, 1988 she married George Rogerson. George passed away in the spring of 1991. Helen moved to the Herbert Nursing Home in May 2005. Helen’s passion was driving…she would find any excuse to go on a road trip. It could have been the birth of a child, a birthday, an anniversary or just because she wanted to. As passionate as she was about driving, she was just as dispassionate about the mountains. If they were 5 miles away she was okay, but any closer and then they blocked her view. She loved the openness of the prairies. Helen was predeceased by:
– Husband P.F. Harder
– Husband George Rogerson
– Parents Johann and Helena
– 5 Brothers and 2 Sisters
– 4 Step-Children
She leaves to mourn: – Brother Henry Wall and wife Jean
– Sister-in-law Martha Wall
– Sister-in-law Olive Wedhorn
– 4 Step-Children
– Numerous Nieces and Nephews and Step-Grandchildren
