SPIES Mrs. Eve Margaret, was born April 30, 1924 in Prelate, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Spies of 62 years; son, Melvin (Margaret); and four grandchildren: Cherise, Joshua, Chantel and Jess – All the love of her life. Eve and Michael were married on June 10, 1945 in Calgary, Alberta.

They moved to Saskatchewan where they took over farming the homestead place. Eve kept busy helping out with the farming, growing gardens, and planting flowers – her passion – gladiolas were her favourite flower. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, trapshooting, loved hockey games and other various sports. Eve and Michael started a cabin at the Resort Village of Beaver Flats in 1983, and upon completion, they retired there. The funeral service was held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lancer, Saskatchewan with Father Antony officiating. The interment was held at the Portreeve Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
