BLODGETT – Lawrence it is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Lawrence Allen Blodgett on August 18, 2017 with his wife Laura and daughter Carla at his side in the Cypress Regional Hospital. Lawrence is survived by his wife Laura of 55 years, his daughter, Carla, his two grandchildren, Jordan and Brooklynn, one brother, Harvey Blodgett, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Edith, son, Warren Blodgett (1979), sister Judy (Gordon) Brilz, sister Beverly (Joe) Tuchsherer, Alfred (Donna), and Harold Blodgett. Lawrence was born in Prelate, SK on August 19, 1942, to Clarence and Edith Blodgett. He had 5 brothers and sisters; Harvey (Judy), Harold (Doris), Alfred (Donna), Beverly (Joe) Tuchsherer, and Judy (Gordon) Brilz. In 1958, he met Laura Hoffmann, the love of his life and best friend. They were married on May 4, 1962. They had 2 children, Warren and Carla, as well as two grandchildren, Jordan and Brooklynn. Warren was killed in a tragic car accident in 1979. Lawrence was a very talented barber, opening his own barbershop in Eatonia Saskatchewan, . In 1973, the family moved to Swift Current, and Lawrence discovered his talent and love for sales. He worked at Eatons, selling furniture, and later sold cars and trucks at Swift Toyota, Great West Chrysler and Cypress Motors. He retired in 2007 but still loved running into old customers, stopping to chat and tell stories. Lawrence loved camping, spending several summers at the Saskatchewan Landing. He was truly a family man, always putting his family first in everything he did. He was a loving and caring husband, and the world’s best Dad and Grandpa. He will be sadly missed as he was a big part of all of our lives. The funeral service will be held at St. Olafs Lutheran church at 2 pm in Swift Current, SK.
