Jack is survived by his wife, Janette, of 45 years and 13 days; son, Raymond (Roseann) and grandsons: Logan, Kelton, Dawson and Keegan; son, Randy (Tracey); son, Terry (Jackie) and grandchildren, Neasha and Theoren. Also survived by his sisters and brothers: Carol (John) Wiens, Gus (Marge) Schlamp, Minnie Berg, Marge Schlamp, Bernard (Pauline) Schlamp, Agatha (Neil) Neufeld, Betty (Bill) Ginter, Bill (Mary) Schlamp, John (Kathy) Schlamp, Phillip (Brenda) Schlamp, Cornelia (Bill) Funk, Anna (Bernie) Giesbrecht; and brothers and sisters – in-law: John (Nancy) Knelsen, Tina (Keith) Grose, Jake (Sally) Knelsen, Ed (Loreen) Knelsen, Marianne (Bob) Janzen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was born on March 26, 1944 in Vanderhoof, B.C., Jack’s family moved to the Swift Current area in 1948 where their family grew to thirteen children. Jack and his siblings early years were spent helping on the family farm. He accepted Jesus as his Savior in his late teens. He met Janette in 1960 through friends and they were married in 1963. Jack worked in construction before starting his own company, Schlamp Construction, in 1967. Jack and Janette’s first son, Raymond was born in 1964, Randy followed in 1966, and Terry in 1974. As the boys were growing up they lived in several of the houses Jack built. Moving to the farm in 1979 marked their 10th and final family home. At this time he traded his tool belt for coveralls to start grain farming and later raising cattle. His interests included driving horses, collecting and restoring buggies and tractors and attending auction sales far and wide. His creative ingenuity brought many farm inventions and projects that either improved his operations or others. Jack was industrious, inquisitive, faithful, generous and enjoyed fellowship with family and friends. He was a dedicated loving husband, father and grandpa. His strong faith in God helped him through his pain and his trials. His quirky sense of humor was enjoyed by many and his interest in people was always focused into ‘twenty questions’ . . . or more! Jack will be sadly missed and remembered always. Memorial donations may be made to Gideon’s International.
