WEISETH – Esther Lillian (1921 – 2017), beloved wife of Julian Weiseth passed away peacefully in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on Thursday, June 29, at the age of 95. A memorial celebration service for family and friends will be held at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on Friday, July 7, at 2:00 p.m. There will be a private family burial on a later date. Besides her loving husband of 68 years, she is survived by her daughter Joy (Dennis)Stewart of Calgary, Alberta and sons Lanny (Patricia and their three children Hannah, Noah, and Leah), and Brad. Esther is also survived by her son David (Irene) Weiseth of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and sons Mark, Eric(Jireh), Darren(Jordan), and Blake (Meagan and their daughter Molly), along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Ellen Lindland, son Dale Weiseth, brother George Lindland, and sisters Gudrun Merkel and Ruth Svenson. Esther was born in Jenner, Alberta in 1921. She took her schooling in her home town of Jenner. After high school, Esther attended business college in Calgary. She first worked in Calgary and then in Banff. On the weekends, Esther went to Calgary and attended church there. She met Julian as they sang together in the choir. She quickly became his sweetheart and they were married on April 9, 1949. Esther’s first love was her Lord and Savior. She was a wonderful support to her husband in every way imaginable and a great mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. Hospitality was her number one gift as well as sewing, gardening, poetry writing, curling, and many others. Esther always had time for people. She was involved in her ladies’ church groups, faithfully bringing not only what she needed to, but extra food to events that they served at. After leaving the farm, Esther and Julian moved into their home in Swift Current and then in 2014 made Cypress House their new home. We will all miss you dearly, mom, but rejoice with you now as you are with Jesus. We love you!
