Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
KUNZE Francis Raymond, passed away on Monday May 25th, 2009 at the Herbert Integrated Health Care Facility. Frank was born January 23rd, 1932 in Morse to Joseph and Mary Kunze. Frank was the forth of five children. He took his schooling at Meadow Prairie School & then high school in Herbert. After Graduating at Herbert, Frank went on to Notre Dame, to get an education in Agriculture. After this Frank returned to the family farm. A while later he met Linda Dyck, they dated for several years before getting married on December 4th, 1970. They were blessed with two boys Cory and Joe. Frank loved the farm life and there was no place he would rather be. Frank was a master of all trades and there was nothing that he could not build or repair. In his younger days he would rebuild motors, do lathe work, both metal and wood. He also installed power to several farms in the area. Frank loved to spend time at the shop and “tinker with his junk”. Baseball was also a huge part of Frank’s life; he played for years with the Neidpath Aces, and later fastball in Swift Current. Because of this both boys played the game also. Frank taught the boys how to play and helped coach the teams they were on. He may just have had more fun than the boys he coached. Franks health took a toll after the passing of his wife Linda. He was never the same after that. The last year of his life was very rough, his lungs were deteriorating rapidly and in November he was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer. Frank went to Regina for Radiation treatment, but unfortunately the treatment was worse than the disease. He chose to quit treatment and was moved back to Herbert; two weeks later he lost his battle. Frank leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Cory Kunze, and Joseph (Celia) Kunze of Herbert, sister Irene Bucholz of Perham, Minnesota, and brother Lawrence Kunze of Herbert, along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Linda, his parents Joseph and Mary Kunze, brother Joe Kunze sister Mary Kolbinson, and all of his aunts and uncles.
