Maria (Mary) Peters (nee Olfert) – (March 27, 1914 – July 7, 2009). Beloved wife of the late Bernhard (Ben) Peters (1997), passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, with her family at her side, at the Palliser Regional care Centre in Swift Current, SK on July 7, 2009 at the age of 95. She was born in Winkler, Manitoba.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Bernhard, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her children: Ken (Sharon), Dick (Shirley), Shirley (Lynn), Gary (Joan), Stan (Kathy), and Alvin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary loved spending special times with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Next to her family, gardening was her life. She also loved sewing, knitting, crocheting and quilting. The funeral service was held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church with Reverend Herman J. Wiebe officiating. The private family interment was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliser Regional Care Centre Activity Club or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
