Obituary of Thordis Parker

PARKER – Thordis Ella Kristin (Daisy) was born on April 27, 1913 in Baldur, Manitoba. Born third oldest child, her father passed away when she was a baby, so her mother came to the Standing Rock District to keep house for Harry Seaman, whom she later married.
Thordis received her education at Standing Rock and Hazlet schools but attended Bloomville for 1 year. She married Walter Parker on December 15, 1931, and they farmed in the Hazlet area. She retired to Swift Current in July 1977, residing there until her health no longer allowed her to be in her home. She was admitted to the Palliser Regional Care Centre in June 2007 where she resided until her passing on October 16, 2009. Thordis is survived by her sons Allen (Gloria) Parker and their children Gerri (Shaynee) Modien, Melissa and Leslie (Colleen), Robert Parker and his son Rodney; grandchildren: Randy (Corinne) Zeller, Kerry Zeller, Judy (Derris) White, Wendy, Kevin (Donna) Zeller, Barry (Nola) Zinn, Teresa (Jeff) Harrold; son-in-law, Don (Eileen) Zinn; 10 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Gibson and Myrel Sim; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Parker; parents, Stefan and Stella Stefanson; step-father Harry Seaman; daughters, Stella Zeller, Edith Zinn; sisters, Lily Pyne, Phyllis Yake; brothers, Allen Stefanson, Bertrom Seaman, Garnet Seaman; son-in-law, Boyd Zeller; parents-in-law, Wilhelm and Mary Ann Parker; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wardlaw, Jessie Parker, Carrie Parker; brothers-in-law, Percy Pyne, Charles Gibson, Budd Yake, Harold Parker, Gordon Wardlaw; nephews, Walter Gibson, Harold Wardlaw, Bill Wardlaw. A graveside service for family was held on October 24, 2009 at the HazletCemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliser Regional Care Centre Auxiliary.
