After working on the family farm for four years, Lloyd took over the farm in 1945. He married Norma Ruud from Admiral in 1952 and while living on the home farm, they raised four children. Lloyd was always a “farmer at heart” but he also found time to participate in curling and enjoyed bonspeiling! He tried his hand at fishing, camping and hunting, graduating from rabbit hunting to hunting antelope, deer and bears. He was an active member of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, and a proud member of the Co-op. He was involved in the Glenvern 4-H Club, and also was a Councilor for R.M. No.76 for eight years. He enjoyed Community get togethers, bowling and liked going to local dances. He attended dances at Glenvern Hall, and was a member of the local Square Dance and Round Dance Clubs and still found time to go dancing at the Legion Hall on Saturday nights. He always enjoyed socializing with friends over coffee and playing a game of cards (especially 3’s to the Kings which was his favorite card game). Lloyd also loved his garden, especially growing his prize tomatoes. He was always glad that his family never moved too far away so they could get together for visits and on special occasions.
