GIESBRECHT – Mr. Stan Giesbrecht of Swift Current, Saskatchewan passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the CypressRegionalHospital at the age of 58 years. Stan is survived by his wife Sharon (Penner) Giesbrecht, daughter Brianne Giesbrecht, sister Brenda (Vince) Taylor, brothers; Ben (Brenda) Giesbrecht, John (Shannon) Giesbrecht, Norman Giesbrecht, mother, Margaret (Phil) Schlamp, nieces Lacey Giesbrecht and Jackie Doncaster, nephews Brad (Jessica) Giesbrecht, Nick (Kim) Giesbrecht, Daryl Taylor and Scott Taylor and great nephew Owen Taylor, mother in law Florence Penner and sister in law Linda (Doug) Hynne, nephew Kyle Hynne and niece Kelsey Hynne (Brody Gibson). He was predeceased by his father David Giesbrecht and his father in law John Penner. Stan was born in Swift Current on October, 26, 1951. He received his education in Swift Current and Moose Jaw. He was a journey man mechanic, a welder and business owner of Great West Tire and later J & S Tire Service Ltd. Stan achieved his dream of living on an acreage. He spent many hours keeping the acreage neatly cultivated and mowed. He and his family planted many trees. His favorite trees were the rose bushes, especially the Cuthbert Grant. He attended many Bronco hockey games and stock car races. He enjoyed helping with 4-H and looking after the horses. Stan had a great passion for Ford products. The highlight of his career was his trip to Detroit to tour the Ford plant and see the Henry Ford Estate. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at FirstUnitedChurch with Christine Ciona officiating. The pallbearers were: John Fehr, Steve Payne, Todd Dunham, Randy Bye, David Downs and Ben Demery. The ushers were Gord and Lennie Neufeld and Harry and Susan Wiebe. The interment took place at the HillcrestCemetery in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. In his memory donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the North Star 4-H Club, Swift Current SPCA or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current and District Ambulance, Dr. T. Gordon, Dr. R. Serwada and Dr. T.
