Obituary of Eva Harder

HARDER (nee Janzen) Eva – age 101 years of age was born November 12, 1908 in the Gouldtown area. She passed away February 5, 2010 at Swift Current, SK. She is survived by her daughters: Rose (Jerry) Rushton, Esther Rude, Vi (Vic) Zadery; son Wilbert (Donna) Harder; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by; husband Abram (June 8, 1985); parents David and Katharina (Klassen) Janzen; 14 brothers & sisters; 1 great-grandchild and 1 son-in-law Ted Rude. Eva married Abram Harder March 23, 1930. Together they had 3 daughters; Rose, Esther and Viola and 1 son Wilbert. They moved around southern Saskatchewan with the CPR, making their last home in RushLake where they built a new home. In 1984 They bought a home in Swift Current. In 1985 Abram passed away. Eva stayed in her home until September 1997 when she moved into the HeritageTowers. In July of 2007 she became a resident of the Swift Current Care Centre. Her pastimes were quilting, embroidery, reading her bible and puzzling. Her family was important to her and she kept up to date on all of us. She remained bright and alert right up until her passing. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from GraceUnitedChurch with Reverend Bonita Chad officiating. The organist was Yolande Gorrill. A tribute was read by granddaughter Elaine Fehr. The ushers were Clarence Wiebe and James Cannon. Pallbearers were: Brian, Barry and Dennis Zadery, Travis Harder, Kerry Rude and Chad Fehr. The interment took place at HerbertCemetery, Herbert, SK. Donations may be made to the Swift Current Care Centre or to the charity of your choice.
