Mom was born December 21, 1911 at Langham, SK. and lived in the area until she was about twelve. When she was around 10 years of age her blind aunt, Aunt Ida, talked to her about having a personal relationship with Jesus. Even though in the following years there was no one to nurture her in that relationship, she always knew that He was with her. Her birth mother died when she was about 18 months, her first stepmom died when she was eleven, her father died when she was 19 and her second stepmom died after she had a family of her own. Since the age of twelve, she worked for neighbors in the Glen Kerr community. One of the families was the Abe Reimer’s where she met Dad, the love of her life. They were united in marriage on July 7, 1929. In their 72 ½ years, they moved to Carrot River, SK. and back with a horse drawn covered wagon and horseback, lived in several different places until they settled near Glen Kerr, SK. In 1957 after their son Henry died, she and Dad moved to Swift Current, SK. In January 1961, Mom and Dad together made a public commitment of faith in Jesus Christ and this entirely changed the direction of their lives. At the age of 90, she moved to Calgary to be with some of her family and fully embraced life with all its changes. Mom always interacted with her family with great affection and interest but this became an even higher priority the older she became. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother; great-great grandmother and friend who lived her life as an example of the love and grace that Christ had shown her. Everyone who was privileged to know her held her in highest regard. She will be sadly missed.
