Please share a memory of Tracy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LOCKWOOD – TRACY ROCHELLE (Murdock) age 53 of Swift Current, SK, courageously lost her battle with cancer on April 3, 2010 at the CypressRegionalHospital, Swift Current, SK with her husband at her side.
Tracy leaves to mourn, her husband Jim; daughters, Lori Shaw (Marlon Dyck), Courtney Lockwood (Mike Herbison); son Keagan (Calli Illerbrun); grandchildren, Dayton and Taryn; parents, Robert and Helen Murdock; sisters, Dawn Dick (Gordon), Lesley Kowbel (Barry), Marsha VanBuskirk (Craig), Shannon Klassen (Brad); nieces and nephews, Rachel Kowbel, Reuben Dick, Phedra Milne, Alexis VanBuskirk (Aron), Jessica VanBuskirk (Josh), Chelsea Klassen, and Braeden Klassen; father and mother-in-law, Ross and Mary Lockwood and brother-in-law Brian Lockwood. Tracy was born in Herbert, SK on September 27, 1956. She was raised on the family farm north of Morse and completed her schooling in Morse. She worked various jobs that led her to Herbert, then Calgary, where she met her husband James Wesley Lockwood. Then moved to Brooks and finally Swift Current, SK. She devoted many hours to being a homemaker, Wife and Mother, meticulously caring for her family. Her last job was Tender Loving Companions (TLC), a business venture she took on with her sister Lesley. She was still caring for clients long after her battle with cancer began, as much as she was able to. Tracy was always willing to give her time to the organizations she was involved in; The Southwest Council on Aging, Swift Current Oil Wives, Glen Kerr Legion and S.C. Stock Car Association. She will also be fondly remembered as Crew Chief for Car #88, spending every race alongside Courtney and Keagan in the Pits. Tracy’s 18 month fight against LeiMyoSarcoma was incredibly difficult, yet at NO point did she give up. Courageous and stubborn, she endured surgery, radiation and many chemotherapy treatments, travelling to Calgary, then Medicine Hat. Cancer was able to take its toll on her body, but not on her spirit. She lived for her grandchildren and fought hard to be here to welcome her “little peanut” Taryn. A private family service was held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Parkside Memorial Funeral Home. A family interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank all those who have brought cards, flowers, food, hugs and donations. We would like to express a BIG thank you to Dr’s Gordon and Trudeau and their wonderful staffs for the amazing care given and compassion shown to our Mom. Memorial donations can be made in Tracy’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
