ENS Mrs. Elizabeth (Fedrau), passed away at the HerbertHospital on April 7, 2010. She was born October 7, 1909 to Johann and Aganeta Fedrau in South Russia in the colony of Furstenland, village of Rosenbach. She reached the age of 100 years and 6 months. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Jacob, in 1983; one daughter, Selma, in 1949; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; 6 sisters-in-law; and 6 brothers-in-law. She is survived by her daughters: Olga (Ron) Heinrichs, of Swift Current; Linda, of Regina; and one son, Jake, of Brandon; 8 grandchildren and their spouses; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; 3 sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth immigrated to Canada with her family in 1926, arriving in Hague, Saskatchewan on August 6, 1926, having experienced very difficult times of famine and revolution in Russia. Mom and Dad were married October 25, 1931 and farmed 4 miles west of Hague, living through some difficult times during the depression of the 1930’s. In 1949, the farm was sold and the move was made into the town of Hague, where they operated a dairy, supplying the town with milk for ten years. Then, a new business venture was begun, an insurance agency and a vehicle license office. Mom and Dad were very active church members in the rural area of Hochfeld and in Hague. Mom taught Sunday School classes for many years, as well as being an active member of the Ladies groups. She also loved the sport of curling. After retirement, the move to Swift Current was made in December of 1979 and they became members of ZionMennoniteChurch where Mom joined the Senior Ladies Aid. Mom loved nothing better than to have her family and friends around her, she was a very social person and loved to bake and invite family and friends over for her delicious meals. Elizabeth made the move to HeritageTower in 1983, where she resided until her move to Herbert Heritage Manor in September 2006. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010 at ZionMennoniteChurch with Pastor Herman J. Wiebe officiating. The organist was Grace Funk and special music was performed the Zion Quartet. A Eulogy was read by grandchildren, Rob Heinrichs and Bonnie Goudy. The ushers were, Jennifer Heinrichs and Louise Heinrichs. The pallbearers were grandchildren: Alan Heinrichs, Rob Heinrichs, Terry Heinrichs, Joe Goudy, Bonnie Goudy and Sandy Heinrichs. The interment took place at MemoryGardensCemetery, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Gideon’s International.
