Obituary of Ferne Murray

MURRAY, Ferne Luella former resident of the Prairie View Lodge, Swift Current, SK went home to be with her LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ on July 28, 2010 from the Western Senior Citizens Home, Leader, SK. at age 92. Ferne was born December 19, 1917 at GullLake, SK. to Byron and Jessie Yake.
She married Cyril Murray in 1940. They made their home in Hazlet, SK until they moved to Swift Current where they enjoyed many years of retirement. July 1978 Ferne accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour. For several years thereafter, she and Cyril opened their home to weekly Bible studies. After moving to Swift Current they enjoyed Christian fellowship at The Church of the Open Bible. She remembered every family member in prayer until Jesus took her home. Ferne was predeceased by her husband Cyril in 2005, brothers Budd (Phyllis) Yake and Stanley Yake. She was a loving mother to son Dale (Teresa) Murray, London, ON, daughter Donna (Vernon) Baldwin, Cabri, SK, four grandchildren – Kim Staples, Saskatoon, Kirtus (Caroline) Murray, Goshen, Indiana, USA, Corey (Sheri) Baldwin, Cabri, SK and Candace (Jared) Bespalko, Okotokos, AB. She was blessed with ten great-grandchildren. She is survived by her endeared sister-in-law Eileen Yake, many nieces and nephews, as well as a few remaining cousins. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 P.M.Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Church of the Open Bible with Pastor Rob Cochrane officiating. Memorial donations may be made to The Church of the Open Bible or a charity of choice. Internment will be a private family service.
