Peters Mrs. Helena of Swift Current passed away on December 23, just seven days short of her 93rd birthday.
Helena is survived by daughter – Susie (Darryl) Quinn of Regina, Darlene (Darrell) Heeg and Nathan, David (Randa) Burdeniuk and Trelle, Cassia; son Ken (Nancy) Peters of Swift Current, Cindy and Curtis; daughter – Rosella (John) Braun of Edmonton, Brent (Melissa) Braun, Keith, Brianna, Ryan and Trevor (Christine) Braun, Shauna and Alexander. Also surviving Helena is her brother Fred Rempel of Medicine Hat and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Johann P and Susanna Rempel, daughter Helena in 1992 and husband David in 1998, sisters Susie, Eva, Mary and brothers George, Jake and John. Helena was born in Herbert on December 30, 1917 and was married to David Peters on September 14, 1937. In addition to raising four children, she was a foster parent to 8 children. In 2005 health issues forced her to move to the Palliser Regional Care Centre where she lived until her passing.
A private family memorial Service was held on her 93rd birthday, December 30th, with Pastor John Regier officiating. The interment took place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park in Swift Current, SK. Memorial donations may be made to RBC Ministries which publishes “Our Daily Bread” at
