DAVIS – Glen passed away peacefully the evening of March 28/2011 at his daughter’s home in Swift Current SK. He was born October 12th/ 1924 on his father’s farm at Neville. Glen was pre-deceased by his Father and Mother, Charles and Marry Davis, wife Agnes and sister Betty. He is survived by his brother Mel of Lac Pelletier SK, sister Ida Holt of Maple Creek SK, four sons; Lorne, Mark, Kent, and Stephen, two daughters; Glenda and Diana, sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Glen enrolled in the army in 1941 at 17 years of age; after his discharge in 1945, he joined the Matadore co-op farm and stayed there from 1947-1961. He married Agnes Goetting on October 18th, 1947 in Moose Jaw SK. They moved from the Matadore to Neville in 1961 and farmed there until his retirement in 1990. Glen was an excellent athlete and an avid ball and hockey player, playing for teams in Kyle and Neville, coaching and playing for the Swift Current Blues Old Timers. Glen and Agnes traveled extensively throughout the States and Europe, staying in the winter for the last few years in Yuma, Arizona. Glen was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was very proud of his involvement with their organization. The funeral service for Glen Davis was held at Victory Family Church Saturday, April 2nd/2011 at 2:00pm where he faithfully attended for the last 8 years. The service was officiated by his son Pastor Lorne Davis with special music preformed by son Mark Davis accompanied by Liz Rakow and a eulogy was read by son, Stephen Davis. There was also music by Victory Praise and Worship Team and the pianist was Sandra Davis. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 formed an honor guard at the service. The pallbearers were grandsons: Benjamin Davis, Nathan Davis, Matthew Davis, Ryan Lacelle, Kyle Davis and Glenn Davis. The interment took place at the Neville Cemetery, Neville, SK.
