KUNNICK – Marion Josephine Marion Josephine (Anderson) Kunnick was born on the Anderson farm at Admiral June 11, 1922 to Newell Monroe and Essie Irene Anderson. She began her schooling at Andersonville country school and went to High School in Admiral. She then went to work at Elliot’s store in Admiral. She later worked at Lambert’s Store in Cadillac, then to Sylvain’s Store and Kopperud’s store. She married Bob Kunnick June 4, 1947 and became a farm wife. They had 3 children – Shirley, Robert and Vicky. Bob passed away in May 1985 after which she moved to Cadillac where she was very active in the 50-50 Club where she served as President in 1987. In May 1988 she moved to Swift Current to Prairie View Lodge where she made many friends and was very active in Bingo, crafts, World Day of Prayer and other activities. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cadillac where she taught Sunday School for several years. In 1988 she transferred her membership to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Swift Current. In March of 2005 Mom moved to the Palliser Regional Care Centre where she resided until her passing March 21, 2011. She is survived by her 3 children; Shirley (Bev) Sherman, Robert (Janet), Vicky (Sid) Huff and 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren – Shirley’s 2 boys; Mike and Kelly (Marlene) – Jordan, Harley and Brianne. Robert’s 2 girls; Jamie (Stefan) Cloutier – Brett, Kelsey and Cole; Joannie (Jason) Poh – Emilie, Tristan and Raylin. Vicky’s 2 girls; Kirby (Leigh) and Kerry. She is also survived by: her sister Eileen Wigness; sister-in-law Myrtle Anderson; daughter-in-law Donna Pattison and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Bob; infant granddaughter Victoria May Kunnick; parents Newell and Essie Anderson; an infant sister (1920); brother Arnold; brother-in-law Johnny Wigness; Bob’s parents and all of his siblings and their spouses. We would like to thank the staff of the Palliser for their dedication to Mom’s care for the past 6 years. A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Brad Julien officiating. Her grandchildren were her honorary pallbearers.
