Please share a memory of Cecile to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LAMBERT – Cecile – It is with profound sadness we say au revoir and goodbye, to our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Cecile, beloved wife of Jules Lambert. Cecile was born March 7, 1930 to Yvonne and Gerard Belanger at Ferland, SK, the eldest of 12 children
As a young girl, Cecile lived in Alberta and Quebec and finally back to Saskatchewan. Cecile Belanger and Jules Lambert met in Estevan, SK where they were married on August 23, 1951. Their children Linda, Richard, Therese and Denise were born in Estevan. In 1959 they moved to Swift Current and bought the last house they would share, on 2nd avenue. They were blessed with their fifth child, Yvonne. Cecile had a major stroke in 2007, which forced her to sell the home she lived in for 50 years. Cecile lived with her daughter Yvonne in Calgary for a short while before moving to the Heritage Towers in Swift Current. In July of 2009, Cecile suffered another major stroke. She was no longer able to stay in her apartment at Heritage Towers. Cecile made her last move to the long-term care centre in Leader, SK. Cecile is predeceased by the love of her life, Jules in 1992, and her eldest daughter, Linda (Dale) Klatt in 2003. She was also predeceased by her brother Paul, and 2 sisters Louise and Pauline. Cecile will be dearly missed by her son Richard (Rozalia) Lambert of Medicine Hat, and three daughters; Therese (Raymond) Lambert of Medicine Hat, Denise Lambert of Moose Jaw, and Yvonne (Stephen) Covey of Calgary. Cecile had nine grandchildren, Paul and Juleanne {Linda and Dale}; Nicole {Richard and Rose}, Lana (Levent), Patrick (Tracy), Byron (Laurelin) and Shane {Therese and Raymond}; and Michael (Sarah) and Christopher {Stephen and Yvonne}. Cecile also had seven great-grandchildren; Canberk and Efe {Lana and Levent}, Rachel, Tristan and Alexis {Patrick and Tracy}, Jade {Christopher}, and Emma {Michael and Sarah}. Also left to remember her are Cecile’s three brothers Louis (Adele)Belanger, Gerard (Eva) Belanger, and Yvon (Linda) Belanger; and five sisters, Germaine (Donald) Carlson, Yvonne (Ted) Riese, Annette (Joe deceased 2011) Ehrmantraut, Anita (Johnny) Fleck and Roseanne (Norman) Johner. Cecile also has numerous brother and sisters’ in-law, many nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends. Cecile was a very sociable woman. Her hair, makeup and jewelry were always done and ready for dancing, shopping or coffee row. Cecile was a long standing member with the Catholic Women’s League, a past member of the Swift Current Square Dance Club and participated in many bowling leagues over the years. Jules and Cecile volunteered for the Voice of the Handicapped, Meals on Wheels, and Special Olympics.
