REDDEKOPP – Willie passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the age of 65 after a short battle with cancer and other complications. He is survived by his daughters, Janet (Milton) Dyck, Rhonda (Kevin) Scheetz and Andrea (Kris) Bonogofski; son David Reddekopp; grandchildren: Cassandra, Kyla and Madisson Dyck, Brendan and Rachel Scheetz, Gabrielle and Dominic Bonogofski; brothers John (Judy) Reddekopp, Cornie Reddekopp; sisters Mary Fehr, Susan Neustaeter, Anne (Henry) Wall, Helena (Howard) Sartison, Elsie (Rob) Fehr, Bernice (Herman) Goertzen and Barb (Brian) Quiring; brothers-in-law Garry (Donna) Sawatzky and Bryan (Angela) Sawatzky and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Brenda Reddekopp, parents Andrew and Susanna Reddekopp, father –in-law Jake Sawatzky, brothers-in-law Abe Fehr, John Neustaeter, sister-in-law Sadie Reddekopp and niece Linda Fehr. Willie was born on August 24, 1946 in Rosenhof, SK. He was the 4th of 10 children, and he grew up in Rosenhof where he also went to school. He attended high school in Wymark. On October 17, 1970 he married Brenda Sawatzky and they lived in Swift Current for 5 years before moving to Waldeck where they raised their 4 children. He followed in his father’s footsteps by working for the CPR as a railway maintainer. When his kids were young, he enjoyed going to Bronco games, playing ball and going for walks. He also bowled in the Tuesday night league. In 1999 they moved to Swift Current and he retired from the CPR after 24 years of service. His grandchildren, nephews, and nieces always smiled when they saw him because they knew he would tease them or say something funny. He enjoyed going for coffee and was known as the “sausage man” as he made several trips to Saskatoon to pick up sausage for his family and friends. On November 24, 2011 he went to Regina General Hospital. He was baptized in the hospital on December 7th. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Community Baptist Church with Pastor Joell Haugan officiating. There was special music by Glory Bound and the family read a eulogy. The pallbearers were: Richard Fehr, Kelvin Wall, Art Neustaeter, Wes Neustaeter, Tim Sartison and Andrew Quiring. The interment took places at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
