KNELSEN – Clara (Neufeld) passed away peacefully at the Palliser Regional Care Centre in Swift Current on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the age of 98 years. Clara is survived by one son, Mel (Judy) Knelsen of Swift Current; grandchildren: Ryan (Karyn) Knelsen of Meadow Lake, Nolan (Lindsay) Knelsen of Regina, Lee (Sarah) Knelsen of Red Deer, Megan (Chad) Olson of Regina, Nola Smith of Calgary, Glenda Lien of Sedgewick, Corinne Stehr of Calgary; great-grandchildren: Jaylen, Claire, Landon, Evan, Read, Rhett, Shelby, Jade, Myra, Courtney and Heather. Clara is predeceased by husband Henry J Knelsen; daughter Mabel Stehr and grandsons Bradley Stehr and Marty Knelsen. Clara was born on September 13, 1913 in the Hodgeville area. She attended St. Boswells School and was a member of the Elim Mennonite Church. In 1934 Clara married Henry J. Knelsen. They farmed in the Kelstern district until 1971 eventually moving to Hodgeville then Swift Current to be close to the doctor. Clara loved to sing in the choir and double quartet. Clara loved her husband, children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. In her last years Clara made many new friends in the staff at the Palliser Regional Care Centre. She loved these nurses like her family. A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Bridgeway Community Church with Pastor Bob Cappelle officiating. The pallbearers were: Wayne Watson, Wayne Allen, Gerald Haubrich, Brian Wirsche, Ryan Knelsen, Lee Knelsen and Nolan Knelsen. The interment took places at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
