Obituary of Dennis Loeppky

Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LOEPPKY – Dennis – “I still see more,” he said to his son this Easter. On April 22, 2017, Dennis Peter Loeppky passed away peacefully with his family at his side. Having hidden their eggs as children, “I see more” was a dad’s way of saying “keep looking.” Keep looking and you’ll find all the treasures I’ve left for you. Dennis was born May 13,1949, the youngest of 7 children born to Pete and Margaret Loeppky, of Wymark, SK. Dennis’s memory will be lovingly held by his wife Barb of 44 years, his son Brian and grandchildren Aaliyah and Isaac; his daughter Denise, son-in-law Sheldon and grandson Jaxen; his brothers Everett (Elsie) Loeppky, Donald (Betty) Loeppky, and Leroy (Judy) Loeppky; his sister Dolores (Henry) Heinrichs; brothers-in-law Herman Seib, Jack (Karin) Wall, Abe (Linda) Wall, Dave (Sheree) Wall; and sisters-in-law Marie Giesbrecht, Kathy Krause, Gert (Ken) Dyck, Sarah Schmidt, Agatha (Bob) Krahn, Helen Wall, Liz Wall, Marg (Kevin) Harcourt and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis is predeceased by his parents Pete and Margaret, and parents-in-law Henry and Maria Wall; sisters Deloraine Seib and Dallas Myers, brothers-in-law Merle Myers, Hein Wall, Dick Wall, Julius Wall, J.J. Ackerman, Abe Giesbrecht, Everett Krause, & Henry Schmidt; and sisters-in-law: Nettie Ackerman, Maria Wall and Tina Wall. If you were coached by him, umped by him, or cheered by him, if he kept your score, taped your stick, or baited your hook, if he handed you car keys or a measuring cup, or if he pushed your soapbox up a hill, then you should know that he believed in you, and all you are capable of. If he showed up in costume, cheated at cards, chased you with a garden hose, baked tools into a pie, popped out his dentures, or gave you a nickname, then you need to know your happiness meant everything to him. If Dennis fed you, gave up a lawn chair, opened a cooler, or put a leaf in the table – it’s not because you were hungry – but because food brings us together. If you met Dennis anywhere in nature, around a fishing hole or a bonfire, in rows of tomatoes, rolling a snowball taller than you, if your birds eat from a feeder that he built, or if he got you out of bed to watch the lightning, then be encouraged: the world is full of abundance and everything grows somehow. One more thing: if you believe in Santa Claus, you must never stop because he’s so very real – maybe more real than ever before. We will celebrate this extraordinary man with tears and laughter on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Royal Canadian Legion. The stories will continue long before and after but it starts at 2pm. If you have a bonfire this summer … remember him (because his wife isn’t going to move the woodpile again.) Donations in memory of Dennis can be made to the STARS Air Ambulance, Stem Cell Foundation or to the Salvation Army.
