KROEKER, Mr. Ernest (Ernie) Klos passed away peacefully on January 7, 2013, at the Cypress Hills Regional Hospital at the age of 89 years. He was born on August 2, 1923, along with his twin sister Ruth, on the farm in the Neville-Pambrun area. He is survived by his wife Lucille (Argue) and his daughters and their families: Nancy (Al) Dyck, Jerrett, Stephen, and Alicia; Karen (Elwood) Enns, Matthew (Whitney) and Daniel; and Margo Dyck, Kaitlyn, Sydney and Carly. He is also survived by two sisters: Ruth Greenley and Norma (Doug) Hamilton and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Klos and Elizabeth Kroeker, his oldest sister, Annie, and his older brother, Peter. Ernie and Lucille were married on October 30, 1954. He and his partner, Dave Fleming, opened Prairie Gas in 1957. Once the business was sold, Ernie worked at various positions, finally working for 21 years as an urban assessor with the Saskatchewan Assessment Authority. Ernie was very family-oriented and always put the welfare of his wife and children first. He had an active Christian faith, attending Bridgeway Community Church for many years. While he did not often speak of his faith, he demonstrated it remarkably in the way he lived out his daily life. The Celebration of Life service for Ernie was held on January 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Bridgeway Community Church, Pastor Bob Cappelle officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) or Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
