SCOTT – Audrey Isabelle (October 11, 1930 – February 14, 2013) It is with heavy hearts we announce that Audrey passed away at the Swift Current Care Centre on Thursday, February 14, 2013. Audrey is survived by her son Ron Scott (Suzie Emms) of Calgary & daughter Cathy (Barry) Cuthbert of Swift Current, her daughter-in-law Cheryl Scott of Calgary; grandchildren Monte Scott of Calgary, Breanne Scott (Josh Barker) of Calgary, Kirsten (Jeremy) Rondeau, Travis (Shauna) Cuthbert, Danielle (Cole) Carlson of Swift Current; great-grandchildren Parker & Laynee Rondeau, Talyah & Saylor Cuthbert & Ava Carlson. She is also survived by brother Les (Edna) King, sisters-in-law Lenora King, Vi King, Doris King, Alma (Doug) Ferguson and her many nieces and nephews. Audrey is predeceased by her husband Al, her mother & father Russell & Clara King; brothers, Charles, Garnet & Roy. Audrey was born in Swift Current October 11, 1930 and lived on the family farm in Stewart Valley. She completed her grade 12 at the Stewart Valley School. She left home to attend hair dressing school after grade 12, but returned home to marry Al Scott July 18, 1951. Audrey and Al moved to Swift Current where Audrey did hairdressing in her home while raising Ron & Cathy. She later worked at Sears store & Francine’s Ladies Wear before opening her own dress shop called Kirstin’s Fashion. She had a real flare for fashion and ran a very successful ladies wear store until, for health reasons, she decided to retire after 15 wonderful years operating her own business. Audrey enjoyed many sports & even won the Provincial Bowling Championship one year. She bowled, curled and golfed for many years. Her & Al loved to travel and were very fortunate to take many wonderful trips together all over the world. Their favorite destination was Hawaii and she loved the ocean and the beautiful sunsets were some of her favorite memories. Audrey loved to dance, and she was very social. Happy Hour with friends and family was something she always looked forward to. Audrey loved to bake and cook and have people over for dinner. She loved being around her family most and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life. The other love of her life was her dog Benji. A memorial service was held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with Reverend Brad Julien officiating. Eulogies were given by her granddaughters Kirsten Rondeau & Danielle Carlson and the ushers were Dorothy and Biss Wiskar. The interment will be held at a later date.
