GIESBRECHT Agatha, went to be with her Lord on April 12, 2013 after a short illness. She was born September 03, 1921 at Choritz, Manitoba to Isaac and Katarina Olfert. Agatha and her family moved to Saskatchewan when she was very young. She grew up in the village of Choritz, SK. and in July 1942 married the love of her life Pete Giesbrecht. Agatha is survived by three sons and one daughter – Bob (Charlotte) Olds, Alberta – Ron (Kathy) Saskatoon, SK – Dave (Connie) Whitecourt, Alberta – Hannah (Len) Robinson, Swift Current, SK., ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, a brother in law Abe (Sadie) Giesbrecht, Swift Current, SK., a sister in law Margaret (Philip) Schlamp, Swift Current, SK. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and later by her husband Pete on March 01, 2000. Also, predeceased by a great grandson, two half brothers, one half sister, five brothers, seven sisters and all of their spouses. Mom and Dad moved from the farm that they homesteaded to Swift Current in 1972. They enjoyed many years together in the city. They enjoyed travelling and visiting family and friends. In 2007, Mom moved into her condo at Prairie Pioneer Independent Housing where she lived independently until the last month. Mom’s passion was gardening, both vegetable and flowers. She made the best faspa and when we had no phones she had a sixth sense for when somebody was coming. She was a prayer warrior for her family to the very end. She carried the title of wife, mother and grandmother to the highest standard. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Trailview Alliance Church with Pastor Bryon Bezanson officiating. The pianist for the service was Delores Falk and Agatha’s granddaughter, Laura Gaertner sang Amazing Grace. Agatha’s children presented a tribute. The ushers were, Paul Gaertner and Marlon Schapansky. The pallbearers were her grandchildren: Todd Giesbrecht, Kelly Giesbrecht, Jason Giesbrecht, Brian Giesbrecht, Kari Lyn Schapansky and Derek Robinson. The interment was held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Donations may be made to the Gideon Bibles.
