MUTLOW – Hazel Blanche Mutlow (nee Pittman) age 94 years, passed away peacefully at Kyle Health Centre, on Monday, July 23, 2013 Kyle, Saskatchewan surrounded by her loving family. Hazel was born February 28, 1919 at the family farm west of Kyle. She was the oldest of four children born to Emma and Isaiah Pittman of Kyle. Hazel is survived by four children, son Larry Mutlow (Eva) and three grandchildren Michael Mutlow (Rita), Lorely Martens and Gaylene Goebel (Derek), daughter Valerie Reid (Jim) and two grandsons Terry Reid (Tracie) and Jeffrey Reid (Denise), daughter Donna Noble (John) and three grandchildren Todd Noble (Tricia), Tara Attwater (Quentin) and Ronalee Noble, daughter Cheryl Gray (Don) and three grandchildren, Carrie Hnatiw (Darryl) Lesley Grimard (Dion) and Nadine Sather (Dylan). She is also survived by two brothers Clifford Pittman (Lavonne) and Donald Pittman (Virginia). She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren. Hazel was predeceased by her husband Roland on September 2, 2000 and her sister Marie Pegg on April 6, 2008. Mom was also predeceased by Rolands nine siblings and their spouses. Roland and Hazel were married on October 24, 1937. They then began farming in the White Bear area and continued to farm with the able assistance of their son Larry, until 1974. They then retired to Swift Current, Saskatchewan and due to Dad’s failing health sold the house in 1999 and moved to Pioneer Manor in Swift Current. Mom was very active in the White Bear United Church and UCW. She was an active participant in the Eastern Star and served as a Sewing Leader in the White Bear 4-H club. Mom enjoyed sewing, in fact, making many of our clothes. She also enjoyed gardening and curling and even took up bowling after the move to Swift Current. Mom lived in Pioneer Manor until January of this year when she then took up residence at the Swift Current Care Center and was then transferred to the Kyle Health Center on April 1, 2013. A special Thank You to the staff and caregivers of both facilities for the excellent care and compassion they gave to Mom and also to Rev. Bob Mutlow for coming from Calgary to conduct the service. The service for Mom was held on Monday, July 29 at Kyle United Church with internment at White Bear cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund or the Kyle Health Center, Kyle, Saskatchewan.
