Obituary of Douglas Carl Coleman

Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
COLEMAN – Doug Carl – December 10, 1965 – December 31, 2014. Doug was predeceased by his father Ray in 2006. He leaves to cherish his memory his special friend Grace, his 2 children, Shawn and Robin, his mother Gladys (Art); his sister Margaret (Mike) Sather and nephew Tyrell. Doug was a modest man and was never concerned with the latest fads and trends or having the fanciest of belongings. He would rather share a case of beer at the kitchen table and enjoy the laughter and company of friends and family – this was what he really enjoyed. Doug loved spending time on the farm. When he was younger he would go out to his uncle’s farm every chance he got. He loved to help out his uncle. Doug loved to cook and was quite creative in the kitchen in his own unique way, from his homemade buns with corners to his unique way of pairing ingredients that no one else would think of or even dare to try. No matter how or what it was, he seemed to enjoy his own cooking. Doug loved the outdoors. When he was younger, he would never miss an opportunity to go out to his uncle’s farm. Farm life had a special attraction for him. He loved helping out and he loved being around the farm animals. His love for nature and the outdoors continued throughout his life. In recent times he enjoyed many a day digging around in his garden or fishing at the river. He was always recognizable out riding his bike. He had his own unique sense of humor and a loud boisterous laugh. He had 1 older sister and whenever he saw her he would call out “hey my little blister”. That was his weird sense of humor that drew you in as you couldn’t help but laugh along with him because he would always be the first, and the loudest to laugh at his own jokes. He enjoyed spending time with family whenever they could get together. This past Boxing Day he spent part of the day with his sister. They went for a drive around their old stomping grounds where they grew up. They drove through the Ponderosa Trailer Court reminiscing about different sites, old friends and old times. Doug enjoyed that day. Doug had a special person in his life, he name was Grace. She meant the world to him. He often told his family how important she was to him. Doug and Grace shared a lot of the same interests, one of them being dancing and socializing. They would go out most weekends to meet with friends and enjoy a night out together. Doug was a simple man with simple tastes and he left us all far too early. He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service was held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Cappelle officiating. After the service Doug was taken to be cremated at Kindersley, SK. and buried with his father at the Kindersley Cemetery.
