DYCK Mrs. Doris Edna (Nee Pilgrim) – April 10, 1920 – May 18, 2014. It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mom passed away with family at her side on May 18, 2014 in the Medicine Hat Hospital at the age of 94 years. Doris and Ed (predeceased) had 71 happily married years together before his passing. She loved the 28 years of wintering in Mesa, Arizona with many good friends. Golf was a special past time there and at home. She was always a faithful Roughrider Fan. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Ed, in 2010; her parents; and her sister. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Glen); son, Dale (Jeanette); grandchildren: Charlene (Shane), Linda (Brad), Jason and Darren (Melissa); 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters; 1 brother; as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Eastside Church of God with Jill Cavanagh officiating. The organist was Marilyn Stevenson and the soloist was John Duncan. The Eulogy was read by Charlene Heavener. The ushers were Payton Miller and Mackenzie Miller. The pallbearers were grandchildren: Charlene Heavener, Linda Miller, Shane Heavener, Chris Heavener, Jason Meyers and Darren Meyers. The interment was held at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside memorial Funeral Home.
