HINTHER – Lorraine Eileen age 89 of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully at the Cypress Regional Hospital on May 28, 2014. Lorraine was born on September 7, 1924 in the Flowing Well district to Jacob & Emma Bender. Lorraine married Henry Hinther on April 7, 1946 and together they raised a daughter and a son in the Flowing Well district. They farmed for many years before retiring to Swift Current. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, bird watching, cooking, shopping and visiting with friends. Her family was very important to her. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Jacob and Emma Bender, parents in law Henry and Elizabeth Hinther, husband Henry Hinther Jr., brother Walter Bender, twin sister Louaine Paulsen, brothers in laws Eldon Herbel, Richard Hinther, Gordon Hinther, Paul Paulsen, Elmer Paulsen, and sister in law Frieda Hinther. She is survived by her daughter Louaine Tumback (George), and son Gary Hinther; grandchildren Corinne Dobko (Steve), Dean Tumback (Lacey), and Colleen Tumback; great grandchildren Brooke & Ashley Dobko and Baylin, Ashton & Axel Tumback; brothers Elmer Bender (Margaret), Allan Bender, Wilbert Bender (Rosemarie); sisters in-law Lucille Herbel, Violet Paulsen, Joy Hinther, Clara Bender; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A life tribute was shared by Colleen Tumback. Pall bears were Clifford Paulsen, Dale Paulsen, Calvin Schindel, Brian Schindel, Mike Rogowski and Jim Simons. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 2:00pm at Parkside Funeral Home. Donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. .
