Gerald was born in Swift Current, SK on January 2, 1946, to Melville and Mary Miller of the Webb area. Gerald grew up on a farm south of Webb. He was the oldest of four siblings, Arnold, Janice and Gloria. He took his schooling at Prosperous Valley, Webb and Gull Lake. He enjoyed being a scout and fixing vehicles. Gerald and his friends made a race track near the farm where they raced their vehicles. Gerald loved learning and took a welding course in Moose Jaw. He worked at Thompson, MB for a short time, Standard Motors and helped Milton Bollma on the farm. He also worked on the family farm for a while. Gerald had a variety of interests and worked for Rusty Quinton at his service station on the #1 Highway. Gerald later bought and operated the service station until the highway was turned into a four lane at which time the station was torn down and he had to rebuild his business north of the old site. When oil was discovered near Webb he went to work as an Oilfield Power Technician for several years. He was a Cub Scout Venture Leader and Rover Advisor. He was on the Camp Thomson Committee and other positions with Wilderness Rendezvous. He was very mechanically minded, if he didn’t have a part he needed, he would make one. He was always helping friends with any mechanical issues they had. Gerald is survived by his beloved wife Judy (Loukota) of 42 ½ years; daughters Heather (Bryan) Ens of Saskatoon, Charlene Miller of Swift Current; son Karl Miller of Swift Current; grandchildren, Gavin, Leodegan and Kai Ens of Saskatoon.
