BUSHIE – Marlene Agnes (Phillip) – daughter of John T. Phillip and Iris (Doll) Holmes was born in Morse Saskatchewan on September 5 1939. Marlene was raised and educated in Morse Saskatchewan with her five brothers, Keith, Edgar, Wayne, Terry and Garth. At the age of 16 Marlene moved to Swift Current and worked as a telephone operator for SaskTel. In 1957 she married Robert Pauliuk. Marlene and Robert had five children, Gaileen Ann, Eugene Phillip, Dallas, Jeff, and Roxanne. Marlene and Robert were divorced in 1968. Marlene met John (Jack) Edward Bushie and the two were married in 1970. Marlene and John moved to Chelmsford Ontario and had two children Scott and Jason. Marlene enjoyed knitting, puzzles and completing family history books. Marlene was a member of the United Church and sat on the board in Chelmsford Ontario and she was a life member of the V.C.W. In 1996 Marlene and John moved back to Herbert Saskatchewan were Marlene was the president of the Herbert Lioness Club for 3 years and the Director for the Morse Cultural & Heritage Museum. Some of Marlene fondest memories were of going for picnics while she was growing up, they were always special to her. Marlene was predeceased by her children, Gaileen Ann and Eugene Phillip, her brother Garth and her loving husband John. She is survived by her children Dallas, Jeff, Roxanne, Scott and Jason, countless grandchildren and eight special great grandchildren. A Funeral service was held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morse United Church with Barbara Wiebe officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca or the Canadian Lung Society at www.lung.ca. or the Morse Museum. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
