Obituary of Lillian Amollia Leisle

LEISLE – Lillian Amollia was born on November 29, 1934 in Morse, SK to Fred & Molly Gerl, the 3rd child of 4. Her journey on earth ended on November 27, 2014 at the Herbert Integrated Health Care Facility 2 days before her 80th Birthday. Lillian took her schooling in Morse and after completing grade 12, worked for SaskTel as a telephone operator in Gull Lake and Swift Current. She married Irvin Leisle on March 27, 1958 and they farmed together south of Morse. From this union 2 children were born – Orla Mae and Grant. Irvin and Lillian farmed until 1990 when they moved to Swift Current. In 2007, due to failing health, Lillian moved to Herbert Heritage Manor. Two years later with continuing decline in health Lillian was moved to the Herbert Integrated Facility in Long Term Care. Lillian leaves to mourn her passing; a daughter Orla Mae (Kelvin) Glydon; son Grant (Teresa) Leisle; grandchildren, Twyla (Martin) Dorval, Nicole (Rhett) Jones, Natasha (Ryan) Olynick, Terra (Brad) Olynick, Andrea Glydon (Kayle Schmekel), Jake Leisle (Charity), Brayton Leisle (Kasey); great-grandchildren, Jayden Tomlinson, Calder, Bryar & Blayk Jones, Parker, Cutter & Huxton Olynick, Holden & Griffin Olynick, Jaxx & Harper Schmekel. She is also survived by sisters, Clara (Jack) Letkeman, Beatrice (Dave) Leisle; sister-in-law Selma Gerl; brother-in-law Fern Desautels and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Irvin, great-granddaughter Addison Tomlinson; parents Fred & Molly Gerl; in-laws Jake & Emma Leisle; step mother Marjorie Gerl; brother Irvin Gerl and sister-in-law Audrey Desautels. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Kiel officiating. The interment took place at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Flowing Well District. The pallbearers were Lillian’s grandsons; the eulogy was read by daughter Orla Mae Glydon and tributes to Lillian from grandchildren was read by Nicole Jones. The special music was “In the Garden” by Terra Olynick and scripture reading Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 was read by Andrea Glydon. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff at the Herbert Integrated Facility for the excellent care given to mom to make her life better. She really appreciated all of you.
