Obituary of Freda Joyce Scott

SCOTT – Freda Joyce – was called home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Swift Current, SK at the age of 72 years, formerly of Stoney Creek, Ontario. She leaves to mourn her loving companion Robert James Loxam; 2 children, daughter Cynthia (Shane) Goodwin of Hamilton, Ont and son Dwayne Boal (Tessa) of Arcola, SK; brother James (Lois) Bulbeck of Morse, SK, sister Donna (Burton) Bulbeck; 4 grandchildren, Corson, Camille, Landon and Jacob as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. She also leaves behind Doris (Roy) Mackey, Donna, Barb, Arlie, Holly, the staff at Springs Restaurant, the girls at Safeway Bakery and Mike at Coop Pharmacy who she was very close with. She was predeceased by her husband Ian on April 13, 1996; her mother Joyce in 1984 and father Fred in 1991 as well as her favorite aunt Queenie and uncle Arther who helped raise her. Freda was born in Toronto, Ont. in 1942 and moved to Hamilton in 1946 where she attended school. She joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps to finish her education. She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 35 in Red Deer, SK. Freda enjoyed curling, bowling, shuffle board in her younger days and loved to bake and did many different crafts for friends and family. She was an excellent singer and sang in many churches in southern Ontario for over 35 years. This talent she inherited from her mother who sang like an angel. Gospel music was her main stay in life. Now Freda and Ian can walk hand in hand along heavens shores. Lord we not thy purpose see but all is well that is done by thee. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home. The eulogy was read by Donna Spaerman and honorary pallbearer was her uncle William Bulbeck. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Bursary Fund – Royal Canadian Legion 2810 Bremmner Ave. Red Deer, AB. T4R 1M9.
